Privacy Policy

Kaer Math (“we,” “us”) is a K–12 math learning app. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to parents and guardians.

Who this is for

Kaer Math is designed for children and students. Parents and guardians can add an optional email for weekly progress reports and can use a PIN-gated parent dashboard in the app. We do not require a separate parent account.

Information we collect

• Account & profile data — such as display name, age band / placement results, learning goals, and settings you choose.
• Learning progress — lesson history, skill hit rates, topic progress, streaks, quests, collection/evolution progress, and similar gameplay data needed to run the adaptive path.
• Parent contact (optional) — a parent/guardian email if you opt in to weekly reports, plus whether weekly emails are enabled.
• Purchases — subscription status for Kaer Math Pro is handled through Apple, Google, and our payments provider (e.g. RevenueCat). We receive entitlement status, not your full payment card number.
• Device & diagnostics — basic technical data needed to run and improve the app (for example crash or performance signals, when enabled).

How we use information

• To provide personalized learning (placement, recommendations, mastery).
• To power in-app features such as streaks, quests, the Spark Store, and evolutions.
• To send optional weekly parent reports you have opted into.
• To process Pro subscriptions and restore purchases.
• To provide AI-powered hints and tutor explanations during lessons (content of the problem/session may be sent to our AI provider solely to generate help text).
• To keep the service secure and reliable.

AI help

In-lesson hints and tutor explanations may use a third-party AI provider (currently Anthropic Claude) to generate explanations. We use this to explain mistakes, not to sell student data for advertising.

Sharing

We use service providers who process data on our behalf (for example cloud hosting, authentication, email delivery for parent reports, analytics/crash tools, and AI inference). We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect safety and the integrity of the service.

Children’s privacy

We aim to collect only what is needed to run a learning app. Parents can clear or change the parent report email in Settings, turn weekly emails off, or unsubscribe from a report email. For deletion or access requests, contact us at the address below.

Data retention

We retain account and progress data while the account is active and for a reasonable period afterward as needed for backups, legal obligations, or dispute resolution. You may request deletion by contacting support.

Security

We use industry-standard safeguards appropriate to a consumer learning app. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Your choices

• Update or remove parent email and weekly report preference in the app Settings.
• Unsubscribe from weekly parent emails via the link in any report.
• Manage Pro subscriptions through Apple or Google account settings.
• Contact us for access or deletion requests.
